Round 3 : Feature Match 2 _ Eric Hoffman vs. Robert Luken
Game 1:
Robert Luken gets to lead as both players keep their first seven. Robert plays an Elf, to which Eric replies with a Granger Guildmage. Robert plays a Wall of Roots with the Elf and the forest, putting a Forgotten Cave into play. Eric has only a Mountain on his turn. Robert takes the chance to play a Blastoderm. Eric end of turn pings Robert’s Elf with Guildmage. Then, Eric makes a Yavimaya Elder, and passes. Robert lays a River Boa and Lightning Bolt’s Eric’s Guildmage. Blastoderm attacks into the Elder. Eric then uses his turn to match Blastoderms, which Robert trades on his turn by attacking. Robert the lays another Wall of Roots and an Elder. Eric then matches Elders. Robert attacks, River Boa gets through, and the Elders trade. Then Wild Mongrel hits the table. Both players then make Blastoderms and the Boa gets Incinerated. Eric then starts pumping out creatures like Jolreal’s Centaurs and Kird Ape. Robert stalls on his creature draws and is forced to chump block. However, Eric has an Incinerate to burn Robert into submission.

Game 2:
Robert leads again, but both players match Elves. One is the Llanowar, the other is the Ice Age look-alike Fyndhorn. Robert plays double Wall of Roots, Eric makes an Elder. Robert plays a River Boa and passes. Eric, stuck on mana, cracks the Elder immediately for two Mountains and Incinerates the Boa. Robert cycles a Krosan Tusker, makes an Elder on his turn and also Chain Lightning’s Eric’s Elf (sorry Andrew). Eric then plays his flanking centaur again. Robert has nothing on his turn, so Eric bolts one of his walls, in range due to mana usage. Eric smashes his Centaur into the Elder, which Robert sacs in response to the flanking trigger. Robert slips a River Boa onto the field. Eric then attacks with everything he’s got before matching Robert’s Boa. What happens from here is best described as a massacre. Robert proceeds to get all four of his Fyndhorn Elves into play, and all are chumped in front of some hungry Centaurs. With nothing but one toughness creatures, Eric rides the Centaurs until Robert is in burn range.
